Wei Hao Yuen

Wei Hao Yuen

Dr Yuen Wei Hao (MChem DPhil Oxon) is the Director of Elite IB in Singapore. Following his completion of his GCSEs in the British School in the Netherlands, and his IBs in UWC S.E. Asia, he went on to attain a First Class honours in his MChem Chemistry in the University of Oxford. Wei Hao then completed his DPhil in Physical and Theoretical Chemistry, also at Oxford.

With more than 8 years of experience with the IB, Dr Yuen has supported numerous students in the IB as well as in their applications to Oxford and Cambridge. Having gone through the entire process from the GCSEs to PhD, Dr Yuen can provide valuable support and guidance at every point of the process, from subject selection, through study support, to university applications.

Dr Yuen is IB-teaching trained through the IBO's professional development workshops.

Arzami Salim

Client and Operations Manager,

Arzami Salim

Arzami is the Client and Operations Manager at the Singapore office. Arzami holds an MA in English Studies and a BA in English Language & Literature, from the National University of Singapore and Nanyang Technological University, Singapore respectively. Arzami also holds a Diploma in Education from the National Institute of Education, Singapore, for which he was awarded the Ministry of Education’s Teaching Award.

Arzami has over 18 years’ experience as an English Language and Literature teacher, having taught in IB schools such as Hwa Chong International and ACS (Independent). He is currently an IBO MYP Examiner and also IB-trained in TOK links in subject teaching.

Tim Hoffman

Tim Hoffman

Tim is the Founder and Director of Elite IB Tutors, and firmly of the belief that the International Baccalaureate’s educational ethos and structure makes it the foremost school-leaving qualification worldwide. Tim completed the IB at Antwerp International School in 2005 obtaining 44 points and went on to obtain an MEng from St Edmund Hall, Oxford University in 2009. He has been tutoring IBDP & MYP candidates since 2006, and started Elite IB in 2010.

Alongside his IB-focused work, Tim works hard to broaden the understanding of the IB in relation to university admissions, particularly UCAS. He regularly guides students, families and indeed schools in demystifying the process and supporting them every step of the way. It is Tim’s mission to make Elite IB a global reference point for IB educators across the globe.

In his role as director of Elite IB Tutors, Tim assists students, schools, tutors and other educational organisations in both growing and understanding the best method of teaching and implementing the IB - both in the UK and abroad.

Sam Romeo

Project Manager

Sam Romeo

As Project Manager at Elite IB, Sam is responsible for driving change and helping to maintain our position as the preeminent organisation for supporting students in the International Baccalaureate.

While a student at King’s College London studying History, Sam sat as co-Chair of the History Society - one of the oldest university societies in the United Kingdom – and completed his dissertation on developments in medieval French taxation assessment, working between departments at Royal Holloway, University College London, and King’s College before being awarded the Worshipful Company of Bowers Scholarship for Post-Graduate Study.

Sam acted as a senior mentor in one of the largest education charities in the UK for several years, leading their international outreach programme in Asia for the latter half of 2014. On his return he became regional co-ordinator for a leading energy before returning to London to join the Elite IB team.

Bella Southworth Simons

Bella Southworth Simons

Bella holds an MA English and a BA English Language & Literature, both from the prestigious King's College London. This follows from a very strong performance in her IB, with HLs of English, History and French, and SL Social & Cultural Anthropology. Bella has over three years experience as an IB tutor, supporting students from MYP3 through to university applications. Bella is an extensively experienced editor of essays and personal statements. Bella has completed over 100 hours of English tuition at Elite IB, her experience and excellent feedback means she is a top tier tutor.

Piers Gillingham

Piers Gillingham

With 3 and a half years experience in developing websites and local applications in a variety of programming languages, a 2:1 in Computer Science BSc from Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge and a years experience developing software for EliteIB Tutors Piers now heads manages and develops technical operations for Elite IB Tutors.

Michal Rigan

Technical Support

Michal Rigan

Michal is himself an IB graduate, completing the IB with 42 + 6 points from 7 subjects. He graduated from 4 sciences ( Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology ), all at Higher Level.

He then continued to pursue career in science, studying Natural Sciences at University College London.

Michal joined the team as an intern in the summer of 2015 and as contractor stayed with the team since then.

Ebba Wiberg

Ebba Wiberg

Once an IB student, always an IB student. Working with Events Management and Travel Trade for the past couple of years, Ebba has returned to the IB world to create the absolute best revision courses for anyone looking to prepare themselves for upcoming exams, essays, CAS, or the IB in general. Along with a BA in Politics and MA in Diplomacy, Ebba has a broad international background with focus on delivering projects and events, connecting businesses and creating networking opportunities. In her free time Ebba is a keen rugby player who does the occasional triathlon.
